Attractive Scholarships for 2013 DTU Enrollees

In 2013, with an educational philosophy and teaching methods based on practical, humanitarian requirements, DTU has decided to spend two billion VND for 800 scholarships to DTU enrollees. Many other scholarships will be also offered to support students from remote areas. Such scholarships will help thousands of students to achieve their goal of going to university and affirms DTU’s motto “We Do Everything We Can for Students’ Rights in Academic Training and Career Opportunities”.

Each year, the DTU Board of Provosts awards 800 scholarships, worth a total of two billion VND, to attract talented students and support poorer ones to enter the university. 720 scholarships, worth 1 to 5 million, are granted to those with university entrance results three marks or higher than the MOET requirements. The remaining 80 scholarships are for students enrolling in advanced DTU academic programs, such as CMU, PSU, and CSU. Fifteen additional scholarships, worth $1,000 each, are granted by BOEING Aircraft to students studying in the Carnegie Mellon University program. CMU is one of the top four American universities in IT. Pennsylvania State University, one of the top five public universities in the U.S, offers ten scholarships, worth $500 each, to those registering for PSU programs in Management, Finance and Tourism. The DTU Board of Provosts also grants 55 scholarships to students entering the CMU, PSU and CSU, studying Civil Engineering and Architecture, worth from $150 to $550 each.

 

In particular, in 2013, DTU will offer new scholarships directly to students from Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Ngai, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Thanh Hoa when they choose one of the following majors:

 

·         Digital Design

·         Electrical Automation

·         Graphics Design/Games/Multimedia

·         Environmental Technology

·         Health Care

        ·        Obstetrical Nursing

Since its establishment, DTU has set its sights on educating a highly-qualified and ethical workforce. With its new policy of encouraging students to enroll in Literature and Journalism and International Relations programs in the DTU Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, DTU is offering a discount of 50% on the tuition fees over four years.

 

In addition to granting valuable scholarships to students, DTU has always invested to improve teaching quality and create an ideal study and work environment for all. Over the past 18 years, the university has enrolled over 46,000 students at the college, undergraduate and postgraduate levels, 10,000 students in junior high school and 900 in vocational programs. More than 30,000 DTU graduates, including Masters, Bachelors and Architects have contributed to the economic development, both regionally and nationally. High achievements in the Mathematics Olympiad, the Physics Olympiad, the Loa Thanh Prize, the Architecture Festival, ROBOCON, the Social Venture Plan Competition and so on have demonstrated the high teaching quality at DTU over the years. Hundreds of local and international companies, such as Enclave, Lac Viet, LogiGear, IBM, the Work West Company, the Nam Hai Resort, the Intercontinental Group, Hyatt, Gameloft, Sacombank and so on have collaborated with DTU to source employees. Recently, 89% of DTU graduates find jobs within 6 months of graduation, which is an impressive statistic. In particular, 100% of CMU students are employed by local IT companies and some of them are already in managerial positions.
