The DTU Stork 2 Team competes in the contest
All the Vietnamese teams from national universities and colleges
performed well in the contest. Thirty-three members of the four DTU teams, four
teams from the Danang Polytechnic University, two from the Danang University of
Economics and one from the Pham Van Dong University in Quang Ngai completed the
computerized tests in three hours. When they finished, their results were automatically
uploaded, with the Duy Tan Stork teams 1 and 2 completing two tasks and the Duy
Tan Stork teams 3 and 5 completing just one.
Dr. Pham Anh Phuong, Head of Information Systems and Basic
Informatics in the DTU Department of Information Technology said: “The contest
is held to enhance the research capabilities of qualified IT students.
Participants can improve themselves by gaining more experience in programming
and teamwork. Similar contests should be organized to benefit the future IT in Vietnam”.
The ACM/ICPC is an annual contest attracting teams worldwide. Since
2006, Vietnam has been the official Asian host country. However, this is the
first year that the contest has been held in Central Vietnam at DTU.
