The DTU Information Technology Department held a workshop on 19th November, entitled “Job Opportunities for I/T Technologists” to offer guidance to students on finding jobs by expanding their contacts with potential employers.
Corporate representatives, I/T lecturers and students attend the workshop
Recent developments in the I/T industry were discussed in three presentations entitled “An Overview of I/T in 2011”, “New Worldwide Standards in I/T” and “Opportunities for I/T Technicians”. Students were able to discuss with corporate representatives the essential skills and requirements when applying for jobs in I/T.
Local companies also awarded scholarships to outstanding DTU I/T students.
These vocational workshops are held as an extra-curricular activity not just for the benefit of students but also to allow DTU lecturers to adjust their academic programs to meet the practical needs of the I/T industry today.
