On the first two days of the New Year, more than fifty members of the DTU Volunteer Club went on a trip to the A Luoi District, Dong Son Commune, Hue City. They spent most of the time doing volunteer work and saw in the New Year with the people there.
DTU students rebuild a small road leading to Mr. Le Ninh Tuoi’s house
On the first day, DTU students and some local youths rebuilt the small road leading to Mr. Le Ninh Tuoi’s house. He is a 2/4 wounded soldier who has worked as a social worker for the local government for years. After working enthusiastically for several hours, they finished rebuilding the small 70 meter road though none of them had any previous experience.

Despite of the cold weather, members of DTU Volunteer Club held a music show to celebrate the New Year with the locals. The gardens of the committee house were full of adults and children. The performances of DTU students were delightful. Many gifts, such as books, pens, blankets and clothes were also presented to children and the needy at the event.
The next day, the DTU Volunteer Club went on a mini tour around the A Luoi district to learn more about life there. Though they spent just a short time in the A Luoi district, the DTU students had an opportunity to share New Year 2011 with people there.
This was one of many regular activities of the DTU Volunteer Club, under the direction of FDTU. The budget for these activities is partly funded by DTU and donations from the DTU Volunteer Club.
