DTU Joins in “Da Nang’s Socio-economic Achievements over the past 40 years” Exhibition

Duy Tan University joined in “Da Nang’s socio-economic achievements over the past 40 years” Exhibition, taking place from April 22nd to 26th in Danang at the International Exhibition Fair Center. The exhibition features more than 600 stands of over 300 domestic and foreign enterprises. The eye-catching stand with significant achievements DTU gained over the last twenty years, including a Second class Labor Order, Emulation Banners of Excellence from the Ministry of Education and Training, the Gold cup for a Vietnamese Brand, the Gold cup for the development of Vietnamese Human Resources, the 2013 CDIO Cup, the 2014 Asia-Pacific Regional IDEERS Champions Cup and others, attracted a lot of visitors.

Addressing the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition, Mr. Phung Tan Viet, Vice-Chairperson of the Danang People’s Committee, said: “The Exhibition is playing a vital role in marking a milestone in the city’s progress over the past 40 years. The eventaims to introduce to local residents and investors, including domestic and foreign businesses, the city’s great potentials and strengths, its remarkable achievements during its progress, and its international integration. In addition, it firmly proves the important position of Danang to the Central region- Highlands in particular and the country in general and affirms the pride of the city’s leaders and local residents in making sustained efforts for the sustainable development and integration of the city in the near future.” 
 
   
The DTU stand attracts a lot of visitors

At the DTU stand, visitors have the chance to learn about “A Low-cost Do-It-Yourself Water-Filtering System for Farmers”, which won the 2013 CDIO Cup from the CDIO Academy, held at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the USA; “Earthquake Resistant Buildings” that won the 2014 Asia-Pacific Regional IDEERS Champions Cup; and so on. Besides, visitors can access some technical products designed by DTU faculty and students such as a Robot to Guide Pedestrians Across the Street, A Warning System to Stop Vehicles at Pedestrian Crossings, a Handle Electronic Parking Ticket Machine-HEPTM, Mulilorous Knotweed tea and Ngoc Linh Eurycoma longifolia tea. 

Dr. Vo Thanh Hai, DTU Vice provost, said: “DTU is honored to be selected as one of the few universities to introduce the achievements gained over the past 20 years of establishment and development, this way highlighting the achievements of Danang city over the past 40 years. So far, DTU has enrolled more than 70,000 students, 60% of them coming from Danang and Quang Nam. Currently, DTU focuses on the education of key majors such as Construction, Tourism, IT, Medicine-Pharmacology and others in combination with the city’s strengths and the demand. These highly-qualified human resources will make significant contributions to the development of the city with new breakthroughs.”
