Following the success of the inaugural event in 2024, the 2nd Da Nang International Guitar Festival (DIGF) will return to Duy Tan University for a three-day event from December 19–21, 2025. With the theme “A New Look, A New Impression,” this year’s festival will welcome acclaimed artists from Australia, Austria, and Italy, along with performers from Danang Guitar. The event promises to offer a special musical experience that will inspire classical guitar lovers.

Campbell Diamond (Austria), one of the world’s top guitarists, with over 30 international awards
Artists Campbell Diamond (Austria), Adriano Del Sal (Italy), and Vietnamese-Australian guitarist Le Hoang Minh have accepted invitations from the organizing committee and will officially perform at the festival. They will share the stage with Vietnamese artists Phan Xuan Tri, Huynh Ba Tho, Nguyen Ngoc San, Nguyen Duy Quoc Anh, and the Dream Oasis Guitar Ensemble.
At the first festival in 2024, the passion for guitar among young people was evident. Besides attentively listening to each performance, many also participated in:
- a master class
- a guitar crafting workshop
to explore the origins of the classical guitar with artisan Kim Sang Gil.

After he won the prestigious “Michele Pittaluga” Competition, the city of Alessandria
organized a 40-concert world tour for Adriano Del Sal (Italy)
Guitarist Phan Xuan Tri, Head of Danang Guitar, shared: “Classical guitar is incredibly relaxing and accessible - it isn’t something distant or overly academic. But to build a healthy listening habit, audiences need frequent opportunities to experience this genre. With more exposure, listeners naturally form an emotional connection and begin to appreciate its delicate beauty.”
Previously, artist Padet Netpakdee said: “Vietnamese youth play the guitar very well. Their sound is professional, and their strong English skills make learning even easier.”

As a member of the Guitar Trek Quartet, Le Hoang Minh won first prizes at major competitions,
including the Adelaide Spring Guitar Festival (2001) and the 50th Tokyo International Guitar Competition (2007).
He also serves as a judge at many international competitions, including the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America in the U.S.
The 2nd Da Nang International Guitar Festival will feature a wide range of activities designed to develop the classical guitar, including:
- Workshops
- Classical guitar training sessions
- An International Guitar Competition
- An International Music Camp
These events will provide opportunities for young artists and audiences to interact, learn, refine their skills, and inspire a thriving guitar community.
In addition, a special workshop titled “Organic Coffee Culture and Music” will be held, featuring coffee experts Su Dran and Ho Thang. The workshop aims to create a meaningful connection between art and sustainable living and allow participants to experience the harmony between natural coffee flavors and the deep and soulful melodies of the classical guitar, fostering a greater cultural appreciation for the arts.
Passion to Nurture New Generation of Talented and Dedicated Young Artists
“When I was a student, out of love for the classical guitar, I traveled far and wide to find teachers. I studied in Hue and later moved to Ho Chi Minh City, eventually realizing that guitar was my life’s calling. When I returned to Da Nang, I found many young people shared the same passion. But despite being a fast-growing city, Da Nang still lacked classical guitar and chamber music activities for young people. I truly want to develop the classical guitar as a cultural highlight - a fresh artistic signature for Da Nang,” said guitarist Phan Xuan Tri.

Guitarist Phan Xuan Tri dedicates himself to bringing the classical guitar closer to music lovers
Together with guitarist Le Hoang Minh, he has spent more than 10 years passionately building and promoting the classical guitar in Vietnam, especially in Da Nang. Both artists are founders and organizers of the Da Nang International Guitar Festival (DIGF).
Although the classical guitar is still given limited space in Vietnam, efforts by dedicated artists, through quality concerts and major festivals like DIGF, have gradually expanded its presence, won the hearts of audiences, and become a meaningful cultural experience, especially for young people.
Guitarist Phan Xuan Tri has been focusing on training young talent. The Dream Oasis Guitar Ensemble, a youth guitar ensemble he has mentored for many years, has earned strong public admiration, particularly since their performances at the first DIGF at DTU.

DTU was chosen to host both the first and second editions of DIGF, not only for its modern facilities and standard performance spaces but also for its strong support of cultural and artistic activities in Da Nang. With its open and creative spirit and an orientation of integrating education and the arts, the university has become an ideal home for spreading classical guitar to students and music enthusiasts.
The university is also investing in training programs in:
• Vocal performance
• Traditional instrument performance
• Western instrument performance
• Composition
• Music theory and criticism
• Musicology
These programs aim to help students discover their potential, nurture their artistic passion, and share humanistic values with the community.
To ensure the success of this year’s festival, the organizing committee warmly welcomes both moral and financial support. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps enrich cultural values and spread kindness. Thank you for being with us on this journey.
