21 DTU Students Study at Korean Partner Universities through a Partnership Program

Realizing their dream of studying in South Korea, the first eight outstanding students from DTU departed for South Korea on March 1, 2025, to enroll in the CBNU G-Cruit Program and the 3+2 Undergraduate-Master's Joint Training Program at Chungbuk National University (CBNU).

This program, jointly implemented by DTU and CBNU, provides an excellent opportunity for students with aspirations and a passion for studying in South Korea to pursue academic excellence in the Land of the Morning Calm.

Out of these, eight outstanding students arrived in South Korea on March 1st to take part in the CBNU G-Cruit program and the 3+2 Bachelor & Master Linked Program at Chungbuk National University. Eleven more students will go to Chungbuk National University, Kyung Hee University, Sejong University, and Dong-A University after being selected for the Student Exchange Program. They will study there for one year, and their credits for corresponding courses will be transferred.

Finally, two DTU students received the Global Korea Scholarship from the South Korean government. This is a fully-funded program for international students wishing to study at top universities and research institutes in South Korea.

Upon completion of the 5-year 3+2 Bachelor & Master Linked Program and of CBNU G-Cruit, students will receive a Bachelor’s degree from DTU and a Master’s degree from Chungbuk National University, improving their competitiveness in the global job market.

Phan Hoang Long, a student of CMU-standard Software Engineering, shared: “I learned about this program and the scholarship from CBNU through my participation in the InCiTE Summer School. Recognizing this as a valuable opportunity, I proactively researched further and reached out to Dr. Nguyen Duc Man, Vice - Dean of the DTU International School, to apply for the program. What motivated me to pursue this program was the opportunity to study in an international environment at an affordable cost and my aspiration to become a lecturer and researcher in the future. This will be a crucial stepping stone for me to meet with leading professors, publish international research papers, and most importantly, earn a globally recognized Master's degree, paving the way for future PhD scholarships.

Reflecting on my time at DTU, I realize how much I have grown, from developing a proactive learning mindset to improving his English skills to honing essential soft skills such as teamwork, time management, and effective communication. These experiences have given me greater confidence in stepping into an international academic and professional environment. I would like to express my deep gratitude to my professors and DTU for providing such incredible opportunities. I believe that the CBNU G-Cruit program will continue to open new pathways, helping DTU students reach new heights of knowledge.”

DTU and CBNU established a joint Student Exchange Program in 2018. So far, over fifty DTU students have gone to South Korea for studies, while more than ten CBNU students have come to DTU to experience the Vietnamese educational environment. The two universities have furthermore strengthened scientific research cooperation, including the project “Study of the Adventitious Root System of Medicinal Plants in a Bio-reactor System and Secondary Compound Analysis”.

The linked training programs and the student exchange programs between DTU and South Korean universities provide students with access to advanced education in South Korea, as well as opportunities to enhance their professional knowledge, develop soft skills, and explore new cultures.
