This year’s event saw the participation of thirty teams from high schools and universities in Danang. The teams also took part in beach games, including carrying each other in a carpet, sack race, and back-to-back balloon.
For five hours, with their rich imagination, the contestants created impressive sand sculptures, creating unique and new check-in areas for locals and tourists.
In line with the topic “Colors of Danang”, most of the creations were inspired by iconic edifices in the city. The Sand Sculpture Contest aimed at showing locals and visitors from all over the world the beauty of maritime tourism in Danang, diversify the “2022 Danang sea tourism season” program, and call on society to join hands for maritime ecological protection.
After the contest, these sand sculptures will be kept intact, so that everyone will be able to watch and photograph what they like.

Besides iconic sights in the city, the creations in this year’s contest also got ideas from environmental issues, such as maritime oil spills killing off sea life. Photo: MINH TIN
