Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU President, shared some emotional memories of the times when Vietnamese students fought for the independence and freedom of their country and then he talked about their duties in peacetime, studying and starting up businesses for themselves, for their families and Fatherland.

Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co also proposed that the university Youth Union and the DTU Student Association establish a policy for studying, serving the community and starting up new businesses to assist in national development. In addition, he proposed that the university Youth Union should fund humanitarian visits to former battle fields, historical cemeteries and to areas that were heavily bombed during the war, so that the young students can promote goodwill and happiness there.

Nine students were honored with “Student of Five Merits" awards from the city and another twenty-five from the university. Eleven others were commended for their excellent performance in the Youth Movement.

DTU awarded scholarships totaling seven billion dong to the leading students in DTU advanced programs, who had won national and international prizes or excellent performance awards in 2018 - 2019. Disadvantaged students were donated bus tickets to return home at Tet.
