On May 4th, 2009 DTU’s leaders met with Mr. Pham Viet Hung, a representative from the DTT Company in Hanoi, to discuss DTU educational programs, especially the CMU courses.
After giving a brief overview of DTU partnerships with various foreign and national institutions, Mr. Le Nguyen Bao, Vice Provost, presented full details of the Carnegie Mellon program, which is divided into two levels, the university level and the college level.
After a period of international training in America, DTU lecturers are able to teach more effectively in a bilingual setting. Mr.Bao also shared information with DTT on student enrollment and the education of undergraduates in the Software Engineering and Information Systems Department at DTU.
Expressing his high regard for these programs, Mr. Pham Viet Hung said: "Currently, DTT employs graduates from the University of Technology, however, their attitude and performance are not satisfactory. We now really need more professional candidates with the drive and ambition to lead us into the future. I believe that the CMU program will provide us with that talent and now is the time to begin working with DTU and CMU on this.”
By the end of the meeting, DTT representatives knew much more about DTU partnerships programs and were ready to consider a possible partnership in the very near future.
