OJOS: French Duo Brings International Music to DTU

On the evening of June 16, 2026, DTU became a gathering place for music lovers as it welcomed OJOS, a duo from Paris (France) consisting of Élodie Charmensat and Hadrien Perretant. Their performance was part of a special tour in Vietnam for International Music Day (on June 21) and Hue Festival 2026.

Organized by the Danang branch of the French Institute in Vietnam in collaboration with DTU, the event offered the audience an emotionally rich artistic space, where the sounds of Vietnamese and French cultures blended in a spirit of cultural exchange and connection.

Following their debut album OUI FUTUR, with songs in French and Spanish, OJOS has emerged as one of the most remarkable names in contemporary French pop music. Rather than relying on extravagant stage effects, OJOS captivates audiences through emotional depth and sophisticated sound design. Tight layers of contemporary electronic music intertwine with compelling alternative-pop melodies to create a musical world that is both powerful and vibrant.

The evening opened with reflective and dramatic songs like La Mort et ses Amis, Adieu, and Tes Mains Sales, creating an atmosphere that was both profound and captivating. The program built on this with the lively energy of pop music harmoniously blended with the expanse and depth of nostalgia in 100 Fois and Llorona.

Enthusiastic applause, spontaneous dancing, and the energetic response of Danang’s numerous music lovers created a lively and youthful artistic environment. In those moments, differences in language and geography seemed to disappear to give way to a harmony of souls through musical connection.

DTU lecturers and students also contributed distinctive exchange performances to the program. Dr Nguyen Huy Vuong, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, performed Spring Comes to the Mong Village solo on the Mong flute, transporting the audience to the cultural landscapes of Vietnam’s northern highlands, where ethnic sounds echo between majestic mountains and forests. Student Le Khac Anna brought the songs Paroles and Viens m’embrasse, her sweet voice adding another colorful bridge of music.
