DTU Students Once More Champions of SAP ERPsim Asia-Pacific in 2026
Maintaining their strong performance, students from Duy Tan University (DTU) have claimed the ERPsim APAC (Asia-Pacific) championship for the second consecutive year. In 2025, DTU students already won SAP ERPsim APAC and went on to secure the SAP ERPsim International championship the same year.
This achievement further affirms the capabilities of Vietnamese students on the global stages of academics and of business administration.
The ERPsim APAC Competition 2026 continued to demonstrate its scale and quality. It attracted teams from leading universities across the Asia–Pacific region, and especially institutions strong in ERPsim training in countries such as China, South Korea, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

DTU students number one at ERPsim APAC Competition 2026
Top Vietnamese universities - Hanoi University of Science & Technology (HUST), DTU, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU HCMC), the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, the University of Economics & Law of VNU HCMC, Nha Trang University, FPT University - all participated, making the contest highly competitive.
Organized by ERPsim Lab at HEC Montreal and SAP UA APAC, the ERPsim APAC Competition provides an ideal environment for talented students to challenge their business administration skills on the ERP platform, which is increasingly widely used to optimize corporate management and operations.
“The ERPsim APAC Competition 2026 was much more challenging as pressure concerning sustainability kept increasing, that with carbon taxes going up in each round,” Cao Thi Yen Vi explains. “This forced the teams to focus not only on profit but also on proactively developing green production strategies for the long term. Continuous random disruptions to production and the need to balance multiple factors - such as multi-level inventory management, supply-chain optimization, and cash flow control - required coming up with comprehensive strategies and making precise decisions when selecting suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics partners.”
At ERPsim APAC 2026, the teams participated in a business simulation with three rounds in the qualifying stage and four rounds in the finals. They started with pre-set inventory levels, demand, and orders. Throughout the contest, they could proactively adjust suppliers, sales strategies, production investments, and financial management, but they had to finish with lower bank debt than at the start.

DTU’s talented students are confident in big contests
“We continuously monitored market and sales reports to capture trends, customer behavior, and competitive fluctuations,” DTU student Ngo Thi Van Anh says about their adaptive strategy during the contest. “This allowed us to adjust production plans to ensure product availability. At the same time, we adapted pricing and marketing strategies in real time: we raised prices when needed to maximize profits or lowered them to expand market share.”
With an ever higher number of strong teams from various countries and a more even quality of competition, securing the top position in 2026 was no simple challenge. Nevertheless, the DTU team effectively leveraged their strengths and practical experience to stand out.
“As external factors changed constantly, we realized that not adapting flexibly could easily lead to wrong decisions,” Le Nguyen Nhat Anh explains. “Decision-making cannot rely solely on forecasts but must also be based on concrete data and smooth coordination of the team. Teamwork is about balancing specialized expertise and unity among members. Although we faced difficulties in the early rounds, our mutual understanding throughout the contest allowed us to overcome this and win.”
Vo Thanh Ngan adds: “If I had to choose one skill in which I matured most clearly during this contest, it would be analytical thinking. During our studies at DTU and also during the competition, our lecturers always support and guide us with dedication, to update our knowledge and develop specific skills. This has taught me how to approach, analyze, and solve problems with logic, which enabled me to perform my role in the contest with effect.”
MSc Nguyen Minh Nhat, Vice Dean of the SouthStar Management Institute (SMi), Director of the Business Intelligence Center (BIC), and PhD student, personally accompanied the DTU team to ERPsim APAC 2026. “The DTU team made an impressive journey by maintaining their number-one position in this contest,” he explains. “Winning the Asia–Pacific championship for two consecutive years not only demonstrates DTU students’ solid expertise but also proves the effectiveness of a practice-oriented approach to education, particularly in developing analytical thinking, data-driven decision-making, and mastery of modern enterprise-management systems.”
