initiatives to promote reading culture among DTU students
Established in 2005, Nha Nam has grown into one of Vietnam's leading publishing and book distribution companies. Initially specializing in Literature, History, and Philosophy, the publisher has since expanded its catalog to include children's literature, business books, self-improvement titles, reference materials, and a wide range of both fiction and non-fiction works from Vietnam and around the world. Nha Nam is especially renowned for its translated literature, introducing Vietnamese readers to timeless masterpieces by internationally acclaimed authors, including Nobel Prize in Literature laureates such as Gabriel García Márquez, Ernest Hemingway, Albert Camus, and Yasunari Kawabata.
During the meeting, representatives from both organizations exchanged ideas on a variety of collaborative initiatives designed to bring books closer to students. Proposed activities included book introduction events, talks with authors and translators, reading promotion programs, the development of dedicated reading spaces, and initiatives that connect students with the enduring values of knowledge and reading culture in the digital age.

Both parties agreed that in today's era of abundant and constantly evolving information, cultivating the habit of selective reading not only broadens students' academic knowledge but also strengthens critical thinking, creativity, independent learning skills, and the humanistic values essential for both academic success and future career development.
During the meeting, Nha Nam also donated a collection of newly published books to the DTU Library. Covering a wide range of subjects, these books will enrich the University's library resources and provide faculty members and students with greater access to valuable academic, cultural, and life skills books. This meaningful contribution reflects Nha Nam's commitment to supporting education while helping strengthen DTU's learning ecosystem, where knowledge is shared and enriched through high-quality publications.
The meeting concluded on a positive and collaborative note, opening up promising opportunities for both organizations to implement meaningful initiatives in the future. Through this partnership between DTU and one of Vietnam's leading publishing houses, DTU students will enjoy greater access to diverse knowledge resources, helping cultivate a lifelong passion for reading, one of the essential foundations for becoming highly qualified professionals in the future.
