on international relations and multimedia communications

In the context of globalization and deep integration, multimedia communications have become a vital tool for connecting information between countries and international organizations. The exchange program on “Multimedia communications in current international relations” offered students from both universities an opportunity to discuss, share, and gain more professional knowledge about the role of multimedia communications in international relations.

“On behalf of Professional Practice Delegation nr. 3, I’d like to thank the lecturers and students of the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences at the DTU School of Foreign Languages, Humanities, & Social Sciences for the warm and thoughtful reception,” Dr Nguyen Dang Khanh, Head of the Saigon University Professional Practice Delegation nr. 3, said at the event. “Multimedia communications do more than just provide information; they also play a role in creating an image for a country and in promoting cross-cultural understanding and cooperation. Today’s academic exchange is therefore a great opportunity for both lecturers and students to share valuable academic insights and discuss potential future collaborations.”

Lecturers and students from both universities at the event

During the event, lecturers from both universities answered the many questions students had related to international relations and multimedia communications. One of the key topics of discussion was the challenges that the development of artificial intelligence (AI) posed to multimedia communications. The lecturers pointed out that AI is increasingly being applied in communications, from data processing and information analysis to content creation. However, AI also brings new challenges, particularly concerning the accuracy, objectivity, and ethics of the information being communicated. Students were encouraged to do further research on how AI may impact international communication processes in the future and how to prepare for these changes.

The lecturers from the two universities also gave the students their insights on how to handle communication crises, especially in situations where an international event might negatively affect a nation’s image. Dr Le Nam Trung Hieu presented strategies on using media to control and mitigate the negative impact of such crises. He also suggested that students explore modern communication tools that can be applied in crisis situations, from social media to traditional journalism.

The academic exchange program provided the students from DTU and Saigon University with valuable knowledge and offered them new perspectives on the role of communications in the context of global integration. The event also strengthened the relationship between the two universities and gave the students an opportunity to engage with and learn from experts in the field.
