In 2024, DTU admitted students in 4 ways: Direct admission following the Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET); admission based on high school graduation exam results; admission based on high school academic performance; and admission based on the Competency Assessment Exams held by the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, and the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

At the 2024-2025 academic year opening ceremony, DTU recognized and awarded the 2024 Valedictorian, Le Van Quyen, majoring in Tourism and Fashion Design, who achieved a score of 28.79/30.

The Salutatorians included: Nguyen Diem Quynh, majoring in International Hotel Management (PSU Standard), with a score of 28.37/30; Doan Ha Quyen, majoring in Tourism & Hospitality Management (TROY), with a score of 27.53/30; Ha Thi Le, majoring in Multimedia Communications, with a score of 27.43/30; Huynh Duc Tin, majoring in Cybersecurity (CMU Standard), with a score of 27.06/30. The Valedictorian and Salutatorians were awarded full scholarships.

For the 2024 admissions season, DTU awarded over 20.5 billion VND in full, partial, and “Tiep Suc Den Truong” scholarships to excellent students admitted to the university.

Sharing his thoughts with the new students, DTU Provost Dr. Le Nguyen Bao said: "Transitioning from high school to university is a turning point in your life. I'm sure that during your first few lectures, you may have wondered whether these 4-5 years of university would provide you with a good preparation for your future career. I assure you that, when you look back at this time, you'll find it incredibly valuable. You'll form habits that shape your character. You'll also learn how to live and work later."

According to Dr. Le Nguyen Bao, professional knowledge is important, but the approach to learning is even more critical. Knowledge evolves rapidly, so it is essential to learn how to learn. This will serve as the foundation for students to keep up with various jobs and fields after graduation. If students adopt a scientific and sustainable way of learning, they will be able to adapt to all changes.

The DTU Provost expected each student to develop a career dream or aspiration. With clear goals, students would be able to make appropriate study plans.
To date, DTU has assembled a team of 1,553 lecturers and staff. Among them, 1,096 are lecturers, with 335 holding doctoral degrees or academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor, accounting for 30.56% of the faculty.

The university currently offers 10 PhD-level programs, 16 master's programs, and 52 bachelor's degree programs with over 100 majors.

In addition, DTU provides high-quality programs, talent programs, advanced programs, and on-site study abroad programs with bachelor's degrees conferred by American universities. The university also offers transition courses and 7 majors for distance learning.
