Prof. Nguyen Van Tuan highlighted that the rapid development of AI will likely have a significant impact not only on medical professionals but also on patients in terms of healthcare. Some initial benefits of AI applications include faster diagnoses for various diseases, reducing human errors, lowering staffing costs for medical facilities, and saving money for patients who can access remote medical consultations, monitor their health, and receive care through virtual assistants without needing to visit healthcare facilities in person.
Also, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Tuan shared his research on the applications of AI and Digital Health in managing osteoporosis. To date, his research team has developed the digital tools Garvan Fracture Risk Calculator and BONEcheckTM, which are used worldwide to assess fracture risk.

Many questions from DTU faculty and students about the specific applications of AI in osteoporosis treatment, the accuracy of AI in medical diagnosis and treatment, and the potential development of AI in future healthcare, were thoroughly answered by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Tuan.
Emphasizing the importance of AI in medicine in particular and in other societal fields in general, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Tuan shared: "AI is not as intelligent as humans and will never be able to replace humans because it lacks the adaptability and flexibility. It doesn’t possess emotions, and cannot be creative like humans. However, in the future, those who know how to use AI to serve their work will replace those who do not."
