Student Scientific Research Conference at DTU School of Foreign Languages and Social Sciences

On April 25th, the DTU School of Foreign Languages and Social Sciences held the Student Scientific Research Conference. Attendees included Dr. Nguyen Huu Phu, DTU Vice - Provost; Dr. Hoang Thi Huong, Vice - Rector of the DTU School of Foreign Languages and Social Sciences; along with numerous faculty members, lecturers, and students.

Dr. Hoang Thi Huong stated: "For students, scientific research helps develop their intellect, creative abilities, and capacity for self-study and independent research. Through scientific research, students grasp methodologies, enhance their awareness, and cultivate scientific thinking and behavior. All these aspects lay the foundation for improving their professional skills and expertise in various positions after graduation.

 

The Student Scientific Research Conference is an annual event aims to summarize the scientific research activities of students from the DTU School of Foreign Languages and Social Sciences for the 2023-2024 academic year. This event also provides an opportunity for students to present their research achievements and serves as a forum for academic exchange, experience sharing, and inspiring and spreading the passion for scientific research among many students at the School."

Scientific Research Conference of the School of Foreign Languages and Social Sciences

 

With a total of 19 research projects registered, evaluations from the Scientific Council of the DTU School of Foreign Languages and Social Sciences indicate that the students' projects for the 2023-2024 academic year show significant improvement compared to those from the 2022-2023. These improvements are evident in the projects' scientific content, practical application, and especially the serious dedication of both lecturers and students during the research process.

 

Eleven highly rated projects were selected to be presented, divided into two subcommittees: the Social Sciences and the Foreign Languages. 

 

Some of the intriguing topics garnering interest from the audience include:

 

-    Deploying Japan's Soft Power through Anime Culture Promotion,
-    Maritime Borders between Vietnam and Cambodia - Legal and Practical Issues,
-    Vocabulary Learning Strategies of DTU students of English,
-    Factors Influencing the Motivation to Learn Speaking and Writing Skills of DTU students of English,
-    Analysis of the Pronunciation of Compound Nouns in Japanese and Solutions for Improvement,
-    Analysis of Inversion in Selected Short Stories by O. Henry.

 

The Organizing Committee selected and awarded certificates to three outstanding projects to participate in the Student Scientific Research Conference for the Social Sciences sector and DTU, including:

 

-    Project entitled: “Legal Issues in Multi-level Marketing Activities” by Duong Thi Hong Ngoc and Hoang Ha Vy (Faculty of Law),
-    Project entitled: “Studying English Learning Methods through English Songs by DTU students of English” by Nguyen Thi To Uyen (Faculty of English),
-    Project entitled: “Using Podcast Applications to Improve Chinese Listening Comprehension Skills for DTU K28 Chinese Language Students” by Tran Thi Ngoc Na and Dao Thi Le Na (Faculty of Chinese Language).
