The 30th National Mathematics Olympiad for university and high school students was held on April 13 at DTU. Out of the 665 awards at the national competition, 11 contestants won special awards.
In the university student category, nearly 450 awards were given, including 43 first-place awards. This part of the competition took place from April 9-12, attracting nearly 700 students with over 800 entries in Algebra and Calculus, the highest in the competition's 30-year history.
The 11 outstanding contestants included top scorers in one subject or those who won first place in both subjects. Top-performing institutions included Hanoi University of Science and Technology, HCM City University of Technology, and the University of Science - Vietnam National University, Hanoi in group A. In group B, top institutions were the Foreign Trade University Campus 2, Military Medical Academy, and Hung Vuong University in Phu Tho.
For the specialized high school students' category, over 200 awards were given, with 42 first - place awards. This section was conducted online on March 16-17, with more than 400 specialized students from 46 schools nationwide competing in arithmetic, geometry, algebra, calculus, and combinatorics.

This year's Mathematics Olympiad for university and high school students was held by the Vietnam Mathematical Society, the University of Science, and the Advanced Institute of Mathematics.
According to Professor Vu Hoang Linh, President of the Vietnam Mathematical Society, the competition saw participation from students in diverse fields such as science, technology, engineering, economics, and military, all united by a passion for mathematics.
During the event, contestants also engaged in sports and cultural exchanges, and attended a series of online lectures aimed at nurturing talented mathematics students by renowned professors and lecturers.
