Ho Hong Ngoc, a senior DTU Fashion Design student, won third prize at the ‘The best street style’ contest during the 2023 Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week, and wants to become a famous stylist owning her own fashion brand.
The theme of this year’s contest was: ‘Shaping the future - Creating the future,’ and Hong Ngoc dressed in an outfit she designed entitled: ‘Planetary Wars,’ targeting modes of sustainable fashion. inspired by ideas from science fiction movies,
"The help of my DTU lecturers, in idea generation, sketching to drawing and material selection, enabled me to create a unique design and combine new materials that are rarely broadly used." Ngoc added.

Since she was a second-year student, Hong Ngoc has actively participated in various fashion design competitions to broaden her specialized knowledge. In 2021, she won a Consolation prize in the 12th National Vocational Skills Competition for Digital Fashion Design, and an Enterprise 's Choice Award in the 2021 Online Talent Competition for Students. She wants to become a professional fashion designer with her own her own unique and enjoys creating beautiful outfits for herself and others. She explained that, with her skillful hands, she can make her well-dressed customers feel much more beautiful and self-confident.

According to Hong Ngoc, fashion design is an extremely competitive field, and the main requirement is to establish a unique niche, through hard work, talent and creativity. During her studies at DTU, Hong Ngoc recognizes the dedication of her highly experienced lecturers, who teach students about drawing costume patterns, tailoring and designing accessories using the latest machinery, and finally brand management techniques to create eye-catching high-quality clothing.
"I hope that my basic foundation of knowledge about current fashion trends will help me to achieve my future ambitions," Ngoc added.
