On September 6, DTU held the opening ceremony of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) P2A Virtual Mobility program. Attendees included Ms. Grazyna Pulawska, Associate Director of the Sustainable Development project at the Asia-Europe Foundation; Professor Claire Paterson-Young, from the Institute of Social Innovation and Impact at the University of Northampton; Dr. Hang Le, DTU Vice-provost, P2A coordinators, and 220 students from 22 ASEAN institutions.

Dr. Le Nguyen Tue Hang said: “As you know, the seventeen SDGs are the core of the 2023 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all UN member states, with the hope of bringing peace and prosperity worldwide now and in the future.
In order to make the 2030 agenda a reality, broad ownership of the SDGs must translate into a strong commitment by all stakeholders to implement the global goals. P2A students must have a good understanding of the SDGs and implement them to contribute to protecting and improving human lives around the world.
I would like to thank the leaders of all participating universities and colleges for your support, especially to the coordinators from Temasek Polytechnic Singapore, UPN Veteran Yogyakarta Indonesia, and Duy Tan University for their hard work and success. Speakers focused on many global issues related to climate change and its impact internationally, specific actions to solve the crisis, and the sustainable development goals to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people have peace and prosperity by 2030.
Participants were divided into 17 groups to get to know each other, discuss and create video projects together on the assigned topics, such as poverty eradication, good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, hygienic water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, reasonable work conditions and economic growth, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, natural resources and the marine environment.
