Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Chairman of the Danang Travel Association, commented that the city’s tourism industry is on the road to recovery, back to pre-pandemic levels. He reported that, in 2023, the Danang recovery rate is now at 80%, forecasted to bounce back completely by 2025. However, despite positive signs and favorable conditions, he added that the city’s tourism sector is still facing several problems, particularly because of low quality human resources, lack of tourism offerings, and others.
At the same time, Mr. Anh overviewed some of the latest trends in tourism, worldwide and in Vietnam, such as Green Tourism, Experience Tourism and Community Tourism, all for potential development in the city.
The DTU School of Tourism hosted the forum, with the objective of providing a high-level opportunity for students to exchange information and propose and develop the most sustainable tourist strategies in Vietnam, together with guests from appropriate agencies and leading local tourism companies.
