On August 8th and 9th, the DTU Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology and the DTU Medical Simulation Center jointly held the "Oral Health Day" for DTU staff, lecturers and their relatives. The event aimed to raise awareness of the issues around oral health and the importance of oral hygiene for all DTU lecturers and staff, from where it can spread to the community.

Some of the DTU lecturers and staff had their teeth tartar scraped off, others got tooth-colored cosmetic fillings and some had teeth extracted.
For the children, dentists applied SDF (Silver Diamine Fluoride), a liquid substance approved for use to prevent tooth cavities (or caries) from forming, growing, and spreading to other teeth.

A large number of DTU students majoring in Odonto-Stomatology also enthusiastically participated in the Oral Health program. Nguyen Ngoc Kieu Vy from class K24 YDR2 said: “The Oral Health Day is a very useful activity which provides students of Odonto-Stomatology like us with an opportunity to know about typical dental diseases in reality, linking theory with practice to improve professional skills. Prior to the Oral Health Day, under the guidance of some DTU lecturers, we prepared documents of dental care and a video clip to teach people how to maintain good oral health.”
Mr. Hoang Thai Hoa from the Mechanical Engineering Faculty said: "The DTU dentists are very friendly and dedicated. I hope that the university will hold more health care programs for DTU staff and lecturers in the future.”
