On July 12th, DTU organized its Degree Conferring Ceremony for PhDs, Masters, Medical Doctors, Pharmacists, Engineers, Architects, and Bachelors graduating in 2021–2022 at its 3 Quang Trung campus, Danang. Present at the ceremony were leaders of the Ministry of Information & Communications (MIC), of the Danang Department of Education & Training, of businesses, representatives of the DTU Board of Provosts, leaders of faculties, offices, and centers, lecturers of all faculties, and especially newly graduating PhDs, Masters, Medical Doctors, Pharmacists, Engineers, Architects, and Bachelors with their families and friends.

“Today is a day of special significance for last-year undergraduate and postgraduate students at DTU, as it closes a chapter of studying and opens a new page in their lives,” DTU Provost Dr Le Nguyen Bao said at the opening ceremony. “After two years of pandemic with a lot of upheaval, the important things all students learnt are probably changing and adapting. I wish you all to keep this and to continue the journey ahead equipped with your university degrees. Once more I congratulate you for having reached your goals. This is, of course, but a small goal, as for a lot of people success in life is reached when living it, when diving into the real world. Today’s goal, however, will be an unforgettable impression for all and I hope DTU will always remain something beautiful in your hearts.”

During its 28 years of development and maturing, DTU enrolled over 128,840 students for PhD, Master, Engineering, Architecture, and Bachelor courses and trained and graduated 73,762 people with degrees from Medical Doctor, Pharmacist, Engineer, Architect, or Bachelor to PhD. In 2021–2022, the university awarded PhD degrees to 6 students, Master’s degrees to 340, and Bachelor’s degrees to 2,691. These will be qualified human resources making notable contributions to the development of the country’s workforce, and especially in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands.

“During our studies at DTU, we could acquire a lot of knowledge, skills, and experience which we’ll put to good use in our jobs,” PhD graduate Nguyen Thi Hoang Quyen of course 4 in Business Administration said in name of all PhD and Master graduates. “In name of the PhD and Master graduates, I’d like to send my deepest thanks to prof. Le Cong Co, who founded and oriented the development of DTU, and to the dear people in the Board of Provosts who were always there for us and encouraged us throughout our studies. I’d also like to thank our supervisors, who were dedicated in their transmission of knowledge. We promise we’ll grow up to become useful citizens of society to not let down the hopes our lecturers have in us and to be worthy graduates of DTU.”

Speaking for 2,691 graduating undergraduate students, Accounting valedictorian Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen of the Faculty of Accounting expressed her feelings: “Ever since my first days at university, I have been impressed with its modern infrastructure and equipment. Besides my experiences throughout the past years, I feel that my choice to study at DTU was the right decision. Your and my maturity is thanks to nothing less than the enthusiasm and especially to the online teaching of our lecturers to ensure our progress when the Covid-19 pandemic made everything complicated. Once more, we give our heartfelt thanks to the Board of Provosts and our lecturers, and we thank the people guarding and serving the university.”

In the framework of the ceremony, DTU was furthermore honored with a certificate of merit for “Outstanding contributions during the realization of its mission, spurring Vietnam to 25th position in the Global Cybersecurity Index drawn up by the International Telecommunication Union” from the MIC. This is no less than a testament to the persisting efforts by its staff and lecturers in in-depth training of information security and their important contributions to providing high-quality human resources in information & network security to the region and the entire country.
One by one, the leaders of the university awarded certificates of merit and prizes to the valedictorians of different majors, awards to students with achievements in national and international contests in 2021–2022, and degrees to newly graduating PhDs, Masters, Medical Doctors, Engineers, Architects, Pharmacists, and Bachelors of various majors. The newly graduated Bachelors, Masters, and PhDs’ bright smiles brought honor to their valuable degrees, and there were some tears of overflowing happiness from the parents. Maybe this is the most beautiful image to close today’s Degree Conferring Ceremony.
