On February 2, thousands of DTU students returned to campus to resume in-person classes, after months of working online at home. Although the pandemic is far from over, all students are now fully vaccinated and made a smooth, uninterrupted transition from the online system into disinfected classrooms with hand sanitizer.
They enthusiastically met their friends and lecturers once again, in a livelier and more personal situation. However, on their first day at university, the K27 freshmen felt a little lost but were helped by lecturers and staff who familiarized them with the environment.
As always, the Youth Union also continued to assist new students in finding suitable accommodation and helped the older ones settle back into their classrooms.
“I’m from Quang Ngai, and just came back to Danang yesterday for in-person classes,” said Huyen Trinh, a K25 student of Tourism & Hotel Management in the Hospitality & Tourism Institute. “I’m a bit nervous, because I have become familiar with online classes, so returning to study face-to-face now leaves me a little confused. However, I’m very excited to meet my lecturers and friends again and hope that I can continue to achieve acceptable results. I’m fully vaccinated and resolved to live with the pandemic, so I’m not overly concerned but will follow the 5K rules to ensure the safety of classmates.”
Lecturer Ton That Quoc Tuan from the Faculty of Environmental & Natural Sciences explained, “All my students were present this morning, with some still attending online but most in person. They were all happy K27 and excited freshmen, and, at the start, I explained the rules for those who might test positive and those who might have direct contact with them. I also emphasized compliance with the 5K rules and overviewed the university and it’s many achievements to inspire them.”
