On June 24, DTU held the 2021 Student Scientific Research conference online, to select qualified papers for university awards and recommendations for ministerial awards. Ninety-three papers were submitted and the twelve best were presented at the conference.

Prizes awarded for the best papers
Four first prizes were awarded to:
- The Smart dashboard, developed by International School students
- The Zigbee to Lora wireless network sensor, designed and created by Truong Minh Xuan Tung from Electrical Engineering
- Paper on the exposure to hospital roommates and related factors, by Medical and Nursing students
- A hunting motif from a Buddhist perspective, in ecological contemporary Vietnamese prose, by Tran Le Hong Phuc from Social Sciences and Humanities
Four second prizes were awarded to:
- The DSParking System, by International School students
- Research into the causes of marine pollution near Nguyen Tat Thanh street in Da Nang, by Environment and Chemical Technology students
- A survey on sleep quality and a sleep cycle application, by DTU medical students
- Research on conical hat production techniques, by La Ha - Quang Binh traditional craft village by Hoang Van Thai from the Korean Language faculty
Four third prizes were awarded to:
- Logistic regression algorithms for early detection of customers defaulting on bank transactions, by Nguyen Hoai Nam, from IT
- The Food Waste Disposer, by Mechanics students
- Assessment of attitudes about the clinical communication skills of DTU Nursing students, by Vo Thi Tra Giang, from Nursing
- Research into factors affecting the decision to return home for work after graduation of DTU students, by Accounting students.
DTU focuses on increasing research activities at the university, in order to broaden the qualifications of lecturers and equip students with specialized self-study skills. The 2021 Scientific Student Research conference promoted student research and gave them the opportunity to enhance their knowledge, creativity and analytical skills.
