Since 2006, the DTU Jobs Fair has attracted 1,450 companies and received approximately 29,000 job applications for 24,200 positions. Annually, DTU delivers between 3,000 and 5,000 job applications to local companies.
Dr. Nguyen Huu Phu, DTU Vive-Provost, said: “With the motto, “We do everything for our students’ rights and future careers,” DTU has made consistent efforts to improve the quality of education and develop corporate relationships to broaden career opportunities for students. DTU has established the DTU Center for Employment Promotion, in charge of maintaining the relationships between companies, DTU and the students. Despite the recent COVID-19 pandemic, like other local universities and companies, DTU has put lots of work into providing continuity for students through the introduction of online courses, to ensure that they can graduate on schedule. DTU joined with the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper to hold the fourteenth Jobs Fair to help 1,500 new graduates with the best career opportunities.”
Students attend the Jobs Fair
A meaningful activity at the 2020 Job Fair is the presence of the DTU Business Alumni Club chaired by Mr. Dang Minh Duong, of the K13 class, who is now a Director of the Vuong Na Duong Trading and Service Company. Mr. Minh Duong explained that the club was founded to work with the university in its career orientation and internship activities, to help students find jobs, give them startup suggestions and support, help skilled students overcome difficulties and foster pride.
Mr. Vuong Quang Hung, Director of Rikkeisoft, said: “Currently, the industrial revolution 4.0 is progressing faster and faster. Meanwhile, companies always consider their employees as their most valuable asset. We are always searching for ways to find better employees. The Jobs Fair is a major opportunity for us to meet new graduates and locate the right candidates. Freshmen also get the opportunity to understand the recruitment requirements of the jobs they pursue, adjust their study plans accordingly and refocus on the future.”
Applying at the Sales Department of Vira Tour Company - Vietnam Railways Trade Union Tourist Company Limited in Danang, Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao, a fourth-year student of Tourism and Travel Management, said: “It takes time for fresh graduates like me to search for career information on the internet. Then the DTU 2020 jobs fair, joined by many companies, offering thousands of job positions, is an ideal environment for me to get information about companies and job positions in person. I also had the opportunity to participate in a job interview right at the jobs fair and understand which position is suitable to me.”
