On graduation, MSc. Nguyen Pham Cong Duc, an outstanding K15 student of Electrical Engineering, qualified to become a DTU lecturer. Now he is also Chairman of Young Researcher and Start-up Club. He has a passion for research, sets a fine example, and receives much admiration from his students.
Nguyen Pham Cong Duc is also Chairman of Young Researcher and Start-up Club
Nguyen Pham Cong Duc puts much effort into both his teaching and research. He said: “As I study more and more, I realize that I can apply m theoretical knowledge to solve real-time problems and conceive new and useful products”. Even since Cong Duc was a first-year Electronic Engineering student, he has conducted several research projects, including the Smart Travel Machine, in conjunction with Texas Instruments, a Self-balancing, two-wheel robot, and a system which positions workers in underground coal mines by VLC.
During his research activities, Mr. Cong Duc has thrived on his accomplishments even more, discovered many new and useful things and gained many vital soft skills, such as planning, implementation, making presentations, teamwork, English, and writing research papers. However, he does sometimes have difficulty coming up with solutions. Cong Duc says: “Sometimes I am discouraged and want to give, but then receive encouragement and advice from my colleagues and learn from them. It is easy to give up and difficult to complete an unfinished project. We must first learn how to believe in ourselves and understand that it takes much hard work and continuous effort to achieve great things.”
Cong Duc currently works on the UR3 Robot Arm at the DTU PLC Logic Control Lab.
He is also involved with teams on three other authorized projects, designing and manufacturing an audio transceiver by visible light, designing and manufacturing image transmitting equipment by visible light, and developing an experimental kit for Telecommunications students to practice with.
The research papers he has co-authored have appeared in well-known local and international publications, such as the DTU Journal of Science and Technology, the University of Danang Journal of Science and Technology, INISCOM 2018 and the Journal of Advanced Research in Dynamical & Control Systems.
Cong Duc actively participates in Youth Union activities and inspires students
Cong Duc was Secretary of the DTU Faculty of Electrical Engineering from 2011 to 2015 and participates in Youth Unions activities, such as blood donations and Green Summer campaigns. He was awarded the “Student of Five Merits” title by the Danang Youth Union. He also received Certificates of Merit for his excellent achievements running the 2013 Green Summer campaign and blood donation activities.
As Chairman of Young Researchers and Start-up Club, he spends time sharing his knowledge and experience implementing research projects with the club members. Many won major prizes in research and start-up contests:
