The Top ten Vietnamese research institutions

Nature Research has just announced rankings of higher education and research institutions in the three fields of Natural, Life and Earth sciences, based on the publications of 10 of the leading Vietnamese universities and research institutions, from March 1st 2019 to February 29th 2020.

The Nature Index ranking is produced annually to count the number of published articles and levels of cooperation between universities and research institutes, regionally and nationally. 82 leading international journals that published thousands of respected research articles are surveyed to create the rankings. The assessment method used by the Nature Index is mainly based on two indices: the Article Count (AC) and the Fractional Count (FC).

The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology was ranked first; Duy Tan University second and Phenikaa University, a new and private institute ranked 3rd this year.

Professor Pham Thanh Huy, the Phenikaa University Provost, stated that, using the Nature Research Index, academics can examine the activities and research productivity of universities regionally or nationally, as well as lists of national and international academic networks worldwide.
