On June 22nd, the Danang Information and Communications Department and the Sun Group held the awards ceremony for the 2017 e-Firework Contest, a competition for computerised firework displays.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Thach, Deputy Director of the Danang Information and Communications Department, said that the contest attracts a large number of young IT enthusiasts from all over Vietnam. This year, the organizers received twenty-five submissions from twenty-three individuals and from teams from universities and colleges in Danang, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Phu Tho province and elsewhere.

Three winners were selected by the judges. Four DTU students, Vo Nhat Quyen, Tong Xuan Hoa, Tang Ho Khanh Linh and Mai Phu Quy won first prize, worth 20 million dong, with a display entitled “Danang - A Raw Pearl”; Nguyen Tan Thanh of the Danang University of Pedagogy came second with a prize of 10 million dong, with a show entitled “The Sobbing Han River”; and a third prize of 5 million dong went to Nguyen Trong Tuan from Hanoi, with a performance entitled “Hello Vietnam”.
This event is part of the Danang International Fireworks Festival 2017 (DIFF 2017), held to promote the festival and raise public awareness about the significance of IT applications in various aspects of their lives.
