Twenty Nafosted projects have been completed or are in progress, as well as several other research projects sponsored by the government or by international organizations.

Majors in IT and Engineering will meet American ABBET standards

Also in the past year, DTU became the first private university in Vietnam to receive a Certificate of Accreditation in Education Quality, which is valid for five years. DTU confirmed that it would register for accreditation for its international programs in Economics at the ACBSP standard, Hospitality at the ACPHA standard, MBAs at the FIBAA standard, Architecture at the KAAB standard, Construction at the JABEE standard and Information Technology and Engineering at the ABET standard.

ABET is a standard used in Engineering and Technology education in the USA and sends
representatives to universities to register them for international accreditation. The Computer Science and Computer Engineering programs at the University of Technology and at VNU in Ho Chi Minh City are the only two inspected in Vietnam. In Southeast Asia, several programs have been accredited, in Singapore, the Philippines and Indonesia. In total, since 2007, twenty-eight countries have had programs officially accredited by ABET.

Engineers graduating from ABET accredited programs are recognized by US companies. In 1932, seven members of US professional societies founded ABET. By 2014, ABET comprised 33 members. Each year, two thousand volunteers from those organizations work at ABET as managers or auditors.

ABET evaluates educational programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Engineering, Technology, Computing, and Applied Science and accreditation by specialists in those fields guarantees their quality.

ABET has was recognized by the American Council of Higher Education Accreditation in 1997. As of 2014, ABET had accredited 3,466 programs in 698 universities and colleges.

“DTU is committed to maintaining the quality of education and to gradually improving student capabilities by preparing them to establish start-ups and teaching them the necessary skills for global integration,” said Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co. “If we graduate students who can start up their own companies in Danang and internationally, we can make Danang the most livable city in Vietnam and the whole of Asia, which is the wish of our government and people. If we achieve this, then DTU will have developed in harmony with Danang, as a heroic wartime city and pioneer of renovation.”
