DTU and the Danang Department of Tourism hosted the 2017 Career Orientation and Recruitment Fair on April 15th, to enhance the quality of the local Tourism and Hospitality workforce and meet the city’s demand for 34,000 more jobs between now and 2020,

Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Deputy Director of the Danang Department of Tourism, said: “Improving the quality of our workers has become an urgent priority in this time of global integration, especially now that ASEAN has focused on our profession. Danang has become an attractive destination for visitors from all over the world, so a brand identity for Danang tourism must be established soon. Tourism companies and universities must hold annual career orientation fairs and proactively participate in tourism activities in the Central region to broaden career opportunities for graduates.”
DTU signs partnership agreements with businesses
The fair attracted 31 tourist companies from Danang and neighboring provinces, including the Danang InterContinental Sun Peninsula Resort, Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Vietravel, the Mandala Beach Hotel, the Sheraton Hoi An Tam Ky Resort and Spa, the Danang Premier Village Resort, managed by Accorhotels, the Furama Danang Resort, the Melia Danang Resort, the Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park, the Laguna Lang Co, Bana Hills, the Royal Quang Binh Hotel and the Sixth Sense Hoi An River Resort.

There were also forums on tourism careers, divided by topic, including Tour Guide Operations, Front Office Operations, Bar Services, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage and Banqueting Services, Hotel Restaurant Management and Event Organization.
Fifteen Tourism and Hospitality professionals gave presentations, including Mr. Jasper Bach Larsen, Director General of the Danang Hilton Hotel, Mr. Daniel Chante Loup, Assistant Front Office Director at the Furama Danang Resort, Mr. Abbas Maatouk, Director of Banquet Services and Ms. Tran Thi Kim Lien, Manager of the InterContinental Club at the InterContinental.
DTU signed agreements with ten partners, including the Mandala Beach Hotel, the Royal Lotus Hotel, the Royal Quang Binh Hotel, the Danang Rosemount Resort, the Sixth Sense Hoi An River Resort, the Danang Sofia Suites Hotel, the Royal Hoi An Hotel, Viet Da Travel, the Danang Trade Union Tourism Company, and the Hoi An River Town Hotel. Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai donated 20 scholarships worth one million vnd each to Tourism and Hospitality students.
