2017 DTU Enrolment in Fine Arts and Architecture

Recently, throughout Vietnam, large numbers of students have enrolled in Fine Arts and Architecture Bachelor degree programs. As these majors are distinctive, disorganized teaching, overcrowded classes, and performance-oriented lecturing instead of practicing student creativity will lead to many graduates of these majors programs not finding employment. However, DTU approaches these majors with a quality-focused mindset and a close eye on the market requirements. 
 
DTU collaborates with well-known universities to offer Fine Arts and Architecture programs

The DTU Faculty of Architecture currently offers three majors:
 
- Construction Architecture
- Graphic Design
- Interior Architecture

DTU educates Graphic Design students using a high-quality curriculum based on Singapore Polytechnic’s Product & Industrial Design and Communication Design programs. In March 2017, DTU signed an agreement with the University of Industrial Fine Arts in Hanoi for training, the creation of a new Fine Arts program and the exchange of Applied Fine Arts expertise, lecturers and students. 

The DTU Construction Architect and Interior Design faculty has worked with partners worldwide to offer advanced, international-standard programs. In 2010, DTU collaborated with California State University Fullerton and with California Polytechnic San Luis Obispo to develop the first and only advanced programs in Architecture and Construction in Central Vietnam. California State University Fullerton is the largest school of the California State University system and Cal Poly is one of the top five Architecture universities in the US.
 
  Students of Fine Arts and Architecture win international competitions

The DTU Faculty of Architecture currently has a staff of one PhD, seventeen post-graduate and three graduate lecturers. Focusing on investing in teaching, the Faculty has expanded research, with papers published in ISI-indexed journals and international magazines. DTU also constantly invests in building new facilities to meet the increasing demands of Fine Arts and Architecture. With 35 students in a class and 20 students per lecturer, well-executed classroom study and research, supplemented by frequent field trips provide students with a dynamic learning environment.

Over the years, DTU Fine Arts and Architecture students have won many prizes in national and international competitions. Dang Xuan Nam was the first student from Danang to win first prize in the National Loa Thanh Tournament in 2010. The DTU IDEERS team won the Asia-Pacific Regional IDEERS Champions Cup at the 2014 IDEERS convention, held at the National Centre for Research on Earthquake Engineering in Taiwan and ranked third in 2013 and 2015. At the National Architecture Festivals between 2010 and 2016, DTU gained 8 first, 7 second, 13 third and 7 consolation prizes. 

DTU Fine Arts and Architecture graduates have strong professional skills and English language capabilities and now hold important positions in national and foreign companies. Recently, over 90% of graduates found appropriate jobs, many of whom working for Vietnamese or 100% foreign-owned companies, such as Eyecatcher Media Vietnam (EMVN), a Danish full service real-estate marketing agency, MAEDA VIETNAM, a joint venture of the Maeda Japan Corporation and the Toyo Construction Company, the Art Thi Architecture and Construction Consulting Company and the ZZZ Studio. 
 
In 2017 DTU will grant scholarships to Fine Arts and Architecture students, including: 

- Scholarships worth 50% of the first-year tuition fee in Construction Architecture or Interior Architecture. 
- Students from Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Quang Ngai, Ha Tinh, Nghe An and Thanh Hoa will be awarded 1 million vnd when they enroll in the Graphic Design/ Game/Multimedia program. 
- Full scholarships will be granted to enrollees in the advanced CSU program scoring a minimum of 20 in the National High School Final Exam.
- Ten scholarships worth 50% of the first-year tuition fee will be awarded by California State University to students entering the advanced CSU program.
