To evaluate the success of a university nowadays, it is not sufficient to look at the traditional criteria such as large campuses, modern teaching aids, and experienced lecturers. One also has to look at international collaboration and the ability to absorb new external knowledge to broaden study-abroad opportunities for students or to offer them the ability to acquire international knowledge right at home.
After 22 years of globally oriented development, DTU has confirmed its success in collaborating with many prestigious universities worldwide.
DTU partners with leading American universities to offer students Advanced, Study-Abroad and On-site Study- Abroad programs
DTU collaborates with American and other universities to provide the highest quality education through joint degree programs. The university is working with Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), one of the four leading IT universities in the US to develop international-level programs in Software Engineering, Information Systems and Network Security.
DTU is also partnering with Appalachian State University and Penn State University (PSU), one of the five biggest public university systems in America, to offer courses in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance and Banking, Tourism and Hospitality, and also with California Fullerton University, one of the leading public universities in Construction and Architecture on the West Coast, to share advanced programs in Civil Engineering and Architecture in Central Vietnam.
In addition, more and more students are registering for the DTU Study-Abroad programs, such as: 1+1+2 program with Lorain Country Community College in America, the 2+2 with Purdue University, ranked 6th in technology studies in America, with Appalachian State University and Medaille College, in Buffalo, and the 3+1 program with Coventry University in the UK. Students are provided with a way to qualify for an international education, broaden their cultural knowledge and obtain excellent jobs on graduation.
DTU holds annual job fairs
In late 2014, DTU partnered with Upper Iowa University, UIU, the second largest university in Iowa, with twenty locations in America, Hong Kong and Malaysia, to offer the joint 4+0 program with American accredited degrees conferred by UIU. Students will study all 4 years at DTU. All subjects will be taught in English, with seventy percent of the courses taught by UIU lecturers at DTU and the rest by other visiting English-speakers. Accreditation will be granted using the Regional Testing System of North Central US. On enrollment in the 4+0 degree program, DTU students will pay only $2,500 per year. This fee compares with the normal $24,000 annual fee at Upper Iowa University and is also much lower than the fee for other similar programs in Vietnam.
Students of the international CMU, PSU and CSU programs at DTU have competed in several national and international competitions and won many awards, at the 2013 CDIO Academy, held at Harvard University and MIT, at the 2014-Pacific Regional IDEERS 2014, in the 2014 Computer Fireworks Competition and at the 2016 CDIO Academy Innovation Competition in Finland.
DTU students are now sought after by major local companies because of DTU’s good reputation and their proven skills. These include Enclave, Work West, LogiGear, Microsoft Vietnam, VPBank, the Nam Hai Resort and the InterContinental Resort, who have all offered students interesting career opportunities.
Ninety percent of the DTU I/T graduates are employed immediately upon graduation, news of which has motivated many more high school students to apply for entry in 2016.
