DTU Participates in the 2016 Hai Chau Book Fair

The 2nd Hai Chau Book Fair took place from April 20th to 24th at the western end of the Dragon Bridge in Danang, to mark the Vietnam’s 3rd Book Day and to promote a reading culture in the city. The DTU stand welcomed book lovers, with a variety of interesting publications.

The Fair introduced many new books from publishing houses, book stores and others, at discount prices. Visitors were also able to meet famous writers, journalists and listen to music bands.

DTU introduced 30 valuable books and the DTU catalog and student bulletin to locals and tourists, all  discounted by 20%. Readers could learn about history, about the lives of revolutionaries and Vietnamese maritime sovereignty and read autobiographies and novels. These included the memoirs “Nam tháng dâng ngu?i” and “Nam tháng tình ngu?i”, by Le Cong Co, and “Không có gì trôi di m?t”, by Ho Duy Le, and of the famous scholar Le Quy Don’s “Ph? biên T?p l?c”, translated by Tran Dai Vinh. 

Textbooks on a variety of subjects, such as Organizational Behavior and Management, by John M. Ivancevich, The Art of Public Speaking by Stephen E. Lucas and Medical Ethics and Law by Ta Quang Hung, were all useful resources for students. 

DTU donated fourteen sets of books worth 40 million VND to the Fair and to thirteen communal Centers for Culture, Sports and Learning in the Hai Chau district. The DTU library also celebrated World Book Day on April 23rd by organizing activities, such as an on-campus book exhibition, a talk on “Reading Culture and Its Development” and presented special Reader Awards to lecturers and students.
