The 2016 University and College enrollment counseling session, sponsored by the Danang Department of Education and Training, was held from February 25th to March 3rd. Information provided by DTU and other universities and colleges in the program helped students get a clearer idea of how to choose and apply to universities and begin thinking about suitable careers on graduation.
Dr. Vo Thanh Hai, DTU Vice-Provost consults with Danang high school students
Specifically, the program was aimed to give Danang high school students basic information about the National High School Graduation Examination and the 2016 enrollment guidelines. The exam will be held from July 1st to 4th, and students will sit for it in their home provinces. In order to graduate from high school, they must take four tests, including the three compulsory subjects, Mathematics, Literature and a Foreign Language and one optional subject selected from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History and Geography. Each examiner will be required to provide student results to the university of choice. Previously, when they enrolled, students could use a pass-code to access results.
High school students receive information on the 2016 enrollment process at DTU
As the first and largest private university in Central Vietnam, DTU is always chosen by students from Danang and elsewhere. DTU offers 43 undergraduate degree programs, 16 associate programs, 10 in advanced international studies, study-abroad and on-site study-abroad programs and, in 2016, many new subjects, such as International Business, Trade Business and Food Technology, giving applicants even broader education options.
DTU enrolls in two different ways. The first depends on grade 12 high school scores. If the score is 6 or more, students are eligible to apply for an Undergraduate degree program. If a student scores lower, they can still apply for an Associate Bachelor’s degree program.
The second way depends on results in the National High School Graduation examination. In architecture, DTU will hold an Art exam on June 25th and 26th and on July 11th and 12th or, alternatively, candidates may submit a painting to the university where they take the exam. To apply for Architecture, they must also submit their scores in Math, Physics and Literature. DTU also offers incentives to receive reduced tuition fees and scholarships. These include 50 full scholarships, worth 16 billion VND, the Boeing Scholarship, scholarships for international and advanced programs and scholarships for applicants living in Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.
Previously, on Folklore Festival Day, held in high schools around Danang, DTU had a booth demonstrating research products and providing enrollment counseling to inform students and parents more about DTU activities and enrollment guidelines.
