More than five hundred photos of Danang taken by sixty professional and amateur photographers, both nationally and worldwide were displayed at the second GoSeeDo Danang Photo Exhibition, which was hosted by DTU, with “Impressions of Danang” as its theme.
The annual exhibition aimed to popularize the culture, people and sights of Danang and promote international tourism. The photos highlighted the many facets of the beauty of Danang, in nature, the culture, the lifestyle and the people.
The exhibition will end on April 18th. Photos will be displayed at the Danang Museum from January 22nd to February 18th, and at the Danang Souvenirs coffee shop at 34 Bach Dang Street from March 3rd to April 18th.
Professor Barbara G. Howell awards first prize to Vo Hoang Vu
One of the founders of the “GoSeeDo Danang” exhibition is Professor Barbara G. Howell, from the Lorain County Community College, in Elyria, Ohio and currently a visiting professor at DTU. She explained: “We called this year’s subject “Impressions of Danang” to demonstrate the attractions of this romantic city. Hosted for the second time by DTU, GoSeeDo Danang has been supported by those who love art and photography, in order to introduce their artistic works of Danang and demonstrate the cultural exchange between DTU and the Lorain County Community College in particular, and Vietnam and America in general.”
The organizers gave awards for the five best photos, including first prize to Vo Hoang Vu, with “The City in the Afternoon Sun”, a second to Nguyen Quang, with “Giving Hands”, a third to Dinh Nguyen Hoang Long, with “A Family of Pygathrix Cinerea” and two consolation prizes to Ngo Van Duc, for “Picking Lotus Flowers” and to Le Tho, with “Love for the Han River”.
For the past few years, in addition to organizing the GoSeeDo Danang photography exhibition, DTU has hosted many other activities aimed to promote tourism in Danang, including the Closing Ceremony of Danang Tourism Branding Project in 2013, the International Conference on Developing Danang Hospitality and Tourism in 2014, the Smart Tourism seminar, in connection with Thailand-Vietnam Tourist Service, in 2015, the third World Tourism Conference and the seventeenth International Joint World Cultural Tourism Conference in 2015, and others.
