Associate Professor Nguyen Quang Hung of the DTU Center for Research and Development and Luu Anh Tin of the Faculty of Civil Engineering were among 364 outstanding students nationwide to attend the 2nd Congress of Young Vietnamese Talent in Hanoi, from December 11th to 13th. Held by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the congress introduced them to each other and honored their contributions to national development. Delegates reviewed their work between 2010 and 2015 and devised a plan for the 2015-2020 period. This year’s motto was “Young Talented Vietnamese Join Hands to Build Our Country”.

Delegates were divided into seven groups, including scientists and intellectuals; government officials and the army; specialists, civil servants and local officials; entrepreneurs; athletes and artists; workers and farmers; and talented students. Delegates paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum, met with the Chairman of the National Assembly, Nguyen Sinh Hung, at the National Assembly House and participated in several activities.
Associate Professor Nguyen Quang Hung represented young researchers. He was one of seventy outstanding young researchers nationwide, recognized internationally and selected to attend a meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on September 11th. Luu Anh Tin represented the students of Danang.

Nguyen Quang Hung gained a PhD in Theoretical Physics and Mathematical Physics at the Physics Institute of the Vietnam Academy of Science & Technology and at the Institute for the Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN) in Japan. He has worked at well-known institutes, such as the RIKEN Nishina Center for Accelerator Based science; Notre Dame University in America and the Centre d’Etudes Nucléaire de Bordeaux Dradignan University in France. He has come to the DTU Center for Research & Development to develop new Physics projects, particularly in Nuclear Physics. He has several international publications in the Physics Review, Physics Letters, the Journal of Nuclear and Particle Physics and the International Journal of Modern Physics. He is currently in charge of two Nafosted projects.
Luu Anh Tin of Duy Tan University
Luu Anh Tin has achieved much in a variety of fields. He is a member of the DTU IDEERS team, which was the only Vietnamese team to participate in and win third prize in the 15th IDEERS competition. He was awarded a Certificate of Merit at the National Mathematics Olympiad in 2012, a consolation prize at the “Students Heading toward the Homeland Sea and Islands” competition in 2013, first prize in the “Water Rocket Design” competition in 2014 and others. He said: “I am delighted to be chosen to attend the 2015 Congress of Young Vietnamese Talent. I will be able to exchange ideas with my peers from all over Vietnam. I always follow Uncle Ho’s advice and try to overcome obstacles, study harder and make my contribution to our national development”.
