They were determined to win a place in the 2015 ACM ICPC Asia Regional contest. Regional qualifying rounds took place in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Danang, Hai Phong, Can Tho and Tra Vinh. Duy Tan University welcomed a large number of students from the central region.
Solving five correct problems out of eleven in 723 minutes, the New Garden team came second, against competitors from the Hanoi University of Technology, the University of Danang and the Hanoi University of Business and Technology. It demonstrated DTU students’ prowess as they beat strong competition from the Foreign Trade University, the People’s Security Academy, the Industrial University of HCMC, and others.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Long, a lecturer at the DTU Faculty of Information Technology, said: “DTU student achievement over the years has amply demonstrated their qualifications and talents. They deserved to win a major prize, as they have worked so hard recently. With the knowledge and skills acquired at DTU, they are now confident enough to perform well in any competition, nationally and worldwide.”
