DTU Participates the Vietnam IT Outsourcing Conference

From October 15th to 17th, the Quang Trung Software Company and the Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association hosted the 2015 Vietnam IT Outsourcing Conference (VNITO 2015), which was the biggest conference of its kind. The objective was to accelerate the development of IT and business systems outsourcing and to enhance Vietnam’s reputation as an attractive outsourcing provider.

Three hundred and fifty delegates participated, including international business executives, government officials, entrepreneurs and the media.

Mr. Lam Nguyen Hai Long, CEO of the Quang Trung Software Company and head of the VNITO 2015 organizing committee, said: “We are holding VNITO 2015 at exactly the same time as the signing of the remarkable Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement by twelve member countries. Under the agreement, with a potential market of eight hundred million, the TPP will help Vietnamese software companies to expand into new markets, including telecommunications network access, TPP e-commerce and more. However, the TPP will bring big new challenges, with the introduction of strict international rules that are more stringent than those originally prescribed by the WTO. This especially applies to rules on full compliance with intellectual property laws and the education and sourcing of qualified staff. The VNITO 2015 will link Vietnamese software outsourcing companies, strengthen networks and develop an effective information-sharing platform, placing Vietnam on the world map of offshore development”.

Mr. Truong Tien Vu represented Duy Tan University at the conference. He said: “DTU is participating in VNITO 2015 as a member of the Danang Software Association and as a provider of highly-qualified IT graduates. We have discussed ways of increasing our international competiveness and the quality of our IT professionals, which are currently key factors in the development of our IT capabilities.”

The VNITO 2015 was highly successful because of excellent support from the leaders of multinational companies and Vietnamese IT companies. It allowed participants to meet, promote themselves and identify outsourcing prospects.
