On September 12th, DTU and USG Boral Gypsum Vietnam jointly held a seminar entitled: “Ceiling and Wall Solutions in Modern Construction”. USG Boral Gypsum Vietnam awarded a scholarship of 7 million VND to the DTU Young Innovation Club.

Dr. Nguyen Chien Thang, Head of Student Research, said: “DTU has hosted several seminars on Construction and Architecture in conjunction with our study programs and this topic is currently of great interest. This is an excellent opportunity for students to learn about the latest techniques in preparation for their future jobs.”

To help students gain a better understanding of the use of plaster in ceilings and walls, Mr. Le Van Tuan, Technical Department Head and Frame Product Manager, gave them an overview of plaster systems. Mr. Cao Binh, Southern Projects Business Manager, talked about plaster applications in modern buildings. Mr. Le Van Tuan added: “Few Vietnamese currently use in room construction, although, in other countries, it is the material of choice because plaster makes construction easier, insulates rooms from noise, is fire resistant and strong. Wider use of plaster in Vietnam will bring many additional benefits, increase safety and improve the appearance of buildings. This is why students of Architecture should have a broader knowledge of their specialty, find out more about the latest technological developments and be ready to apply them in their future careers in construction.”
