On June 18th, DTU held the awards ceremony of the Student Beauty Through Lens and Short Film contests. Attendees included Mr. Dang Ngoc Trung, Director of the DTU Admission and Media Center and organizer of the first contest, Mr. Nguyen Duc Man, Dean of the DTU International School, the leader of the second contest, and lecturers and students and candidates.
Winners of the Students’ Beauty Through Lens contest
The Student Beauty Through Lens Contest is for students who want to exhibit their personalities and styles in photo albums. After launching the competition in April, the organizers received 167 albums from students in local cities and provinces, such as Danang, Quang Nam, Quy Nhon and Ho Chi Minh. They praised the contestants’ creativity, dress, venues and photography skills.
The jury chose the best photos, based 50% on their Facebook content and 50% on student grades. Nguyen Thi Le Ha, from the Faculty of Architecture, and Ly Ngan Ha from the Faculty of Business Administration, both won second prizes, worth 2 million vnd each. Two third prizes, worth 1 million each were awarded to Nguyen Quoc Khanh from the DTU International School and Vo Thi Y Ly, from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Five consolation prizes, worth 500,000 each were given to Do Thi Loi, from the Danang Polytechnic College, Le Ngoc Dung, from the International school, Tran Thi Hoa, from the Faculty of Business Administration, Huynh Thi Van Thu, from the Faculty of Business Administration and Vu Nguyen Phuong Thao, from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science. The organizers also awarded Best Photographer prize, worth 1 million vnd and the Most Exact Prediction prize, worth 500,000 vnd to Le Nguyen Happy, from the Faculty of Architecture and Ho Phuoc Thinh, of DTU.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Man awards the short film contest’s second prize
The short film contest was entitled “The DTU International School - The Destination of Information Technology in the Central Region” and was launched in February to give pupils and students the opportunity to participate and familiarize themselves with the DTU IT programs. Fourteen short, unique and creative films were submitted for consideration.
The judges chose videos based on their content and production. One second prize, worth 5 million vnd, one third prize, worth2 million vnd and two consolation prizes, worthy 500,000 vnd each. Winners included a former DTU student team, with the video “Former Students of the CMU Program at DTU”, a team with the video “DTU Can Make Your Dreams Come True” and two videos from classes K20CMUTPM2 and K19CMU_PSU. There were also four second prizes awarded to classes K18CMUTPM1, K19CMUTPM1, K19CMUTPM4 and K19CMUTTT from the CMU program.
Phan Ngoc Yen, a representative of the former DTU students team, who won second prize in the short film competition said: “In the process of making the film, our team had difficulty asking permission to interview company employees and film locations, so we had to be flexible and continuously edit the scenes in order to keep the facts, using the newest technology. However, with the support of our lecturers in the DTU International School and more experienced students, we finally completed the production successfully.”
The Student Beauty Through Lens and Short Film Contests drew many contestants because they appealed to today’s modern youth culture. They motivated participants to develop their creativity and learn how to create excitement and humor.
