The VUG, which is held annually from January to June, is a high-level sports competition for students from all over Vietnam. This was the first time the contest had been held in Danang and eight teams from local universities and colleges attended. DTU had already won many matches in the Central Region, including the 2010 Futsal U-League and the Danang Honda Cup in 2013 and 2014.

However, DTU team stayed calm and played well to score two goals in rapid succession in the eleventh and fifteenth minutes. With a solid defense and fine strategy and skills, they excited the spectators with some clever goals and beat FPT team 4-2 to win third prize.
