To popularize the culture, people and sights of Danang and promote international tourism, DTU collaborated with the Danang Tourism Promotion Center to host the first annual Danang Tourism Photo Exhibition, entitled “Go See and Do Danang”. The event was opened on March 29th at Danang Souvenirs, at 34 Bach Dang Street and drew many local and foreign visitors.
Ms. Barbara Howell speaks at the exhibition
Ms. Barbara Howell, a DTU instructor from Lorain County Community College (LCCC) came up with the idea of an exhibition. She said:
“In the autumn of 2014, I talked with Dr. Le Nguyen Bao, DTU Vice-Provost, about my desire to show several interesting photos that I had shot in Danang and he suggested we go ahead. As a result, with the support and enthusiasm of my DTU colleagues, the Danang Tourism Promotion Center and the Danang Department of Culture and Sport, we held a display at a coffee shop by the Han River. Besides helping popularize Danang to international friends, the exhibition was a place for other photographers to show their pictures too. Danang is the foremost city in Vietnam for visiting, living and working, so our event created a unique, new cultural link between DTU,LCCC, Vietnam and America and other countries.”
The organizers award gift certificates to photographers
More than thirty pictures of Danang were on exhibit and the organizers awarded gift certificates to the participating photographers.
The “Go See and Do Danang” photographic exhibition will run until April 24th, the photos will also be on display at the Dragon Bridge to welcome tourists on the occasion of DIFC 2015.
