On January 10th, DTU celebrated the 65th anniversary of Vietnam Students’ Day by awarding scholarships to outstanding students. Sixty-five years ago, in the times of Ho Chi Minh, when Vietnamese students struggled against the invasion of the French, Tran Van On sacrificed his life for the independence of our country. Today, DTU students are following that tradition by dedicating themselves to their studies and building a strong and mighty Vietnam.

Opening the ceremony, Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU President and Provost, said:
“Throughout the ages, our young people have always worked for the country. As they were born and grew up in wartime, their patriotic spirit lit a fire for my own generation to overcome huge challenges and make great contributions to the independence of Vietnam. My generation dared to sacrifice their lives for the liberation of our country. Now, as citizens of a truly independent nation, you all have more opportunities to make your dreams come true. More than ever, you must seriously think about what you have been doing and what you want to do for our country in the future. You must take advantage of your studies to contribute to our country’s development and become citizens of the world. When we love our country and have the energy to realize our dreams, we can achieve so much in our lives.”
Over the past twenty years, DTU has become a multi-level, multi-discipline university. DTU has enrolled 700 students in seven graduate courses, 62,000 in twenty undergraduate and associate programs, 1,100 students in vocational programs and 10,000 students in junior high school programs. DTU offered its first Ph.D. programs in 2014. Over 89% of graduates are employed immediately upon graduation. This rate is even higher, at 100%, for DTU Software Technology graduates. Many DTU students have won prizes in national and international competitions.
