In the morning of October 18, 2014 DTU Faculty of Electrical Engineering held the “First Workshop on Electricity, Telecommunications and Electrical Automation” in Room 702 - K7/25 Quang Trung Campus. Attendees included members of DTU Institute for Research and Development, representatives of the Science and Technology Office, lecturers and students of DTU Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
Dr. Ha Dac Binh speaking at the workshop
Dr. Ha Dac Binh, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and member of the Institute of Research and Development, praised the participants’enthusiasm and earnestness - and especially of the ones reporting on their progress in their research subjects. He expressed the wish for the workshop to be held annually, and that after five years of efforts its scope would be expanded to all the Central regions of the country.
Students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering report their findings at the workshop
Ten reports by members of the Research Institute, lecturers, and students were selected for presenting at the workshop. They showcased many lines of research in the fields of Electricity, Telecommunications, Electrical Automation, and others, and having practical applications - such as anti-dozing gloves, a flood water level warning system, a landslide warning system, and so on.
Nguyen Manh Tuan, a student of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, said: “Both worldwide and in Vietnam, and more specifically in the Central region, floods cause damages to people’s lives and belongings. Therefore, I hope that the topic ‘Flood water level warning system’, with its in-situ alarm system signaling back to the center through the RS 485 communications standard, will help better predict and raise warnings about storms. The DTU lecturers supported me a lot with expertise and also with practical equipment. This workshop is really helpful for me to better understand the career I am pursuing and to gain experience for scientific research.”
Though it was the first workshop held by DTU Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the organizers obviously put a lot of efforts into maintaining a high quality and into leaving a good impression with their organization.
