DTU celebrates International Women’s Day

On March 8th, DTU celebrated International Women’s Day at the DTU Quang Trung campus. Attendees included Professor Nguyen Ngoc Minh, DTU Vice-Provost, Mr. Ngo Van Dung, Party Vice- Secretary and representatives of DTU’s faculties and staff.
 
Mrs. Truong Thi Hue, Vice-Chairwoman of DTU women’s affairs began by talking about the origin of international women’s day and the brave struggle of women worldwide. She emphasized the role of Vietnamese women in society today. Mrs. Hue emphasized the specific accomplishments of female DTU lecturers at Duy Tan University.

DTU presented merit awards and Professor Nguyen Ngoc Minh, representative of the Board of Provosts gave his best wishes to all female DTU lecturers and staff. He said: “The tradition of Vietnamese women is heroic, dedicated and vital to their families. DTU women always try to maintain and develop women’s traditional values at all times. They are work hard for their families and in their professions. The success of Duy Tan University has resulted significantly from their contributions. DTU will establish more equitable policies for female lecturers and staff, so that they can focus more easily on their teaching to make the DTU dream come true.”

At the meeting, DTU women had the opportunity to listen to and share their experiences about topics including the four virtues of the ideal women and family violence. Dr. Duong Thi Bach Nhat, Dean of Foreign Languages, recited a moving poem and Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Phuong, Dean of Environment talked about the gardening of vegetables at home.

The meeting provided female DTU lecturers and staff with a relaxing break to get together. With their talent, intelligence and dependability, DTU women have adapted themselves to the new age, and contributed significantly to the development of Duy Tan University.
