Despite the exceedingly hot temperatures in the Central region, a large number of football fans came to the 4th Military stadium in Vinh to support their teams. The 2013 Huda Cup Football Student Finals officially ran from May the 4th to the 12th . Eight outstanding teams from universities and colleges nationwide participated. They were DTU, Vinh University, Hue University, Hong Duc University, in Thanh Hoa, the Hue University of Science, Quang Binh University, the Ha Tinh Medical College and Viet-Han College, in Vinh.
In spite of the heavy rain and hot and muggy air, the DTU team played well during their match with the local Viet-Han team, who, as the home team, were supported by a number of fans. However, DTU lost the match and finished in third place.
With a total of six goals, Le Tuan from the DTU team won the prize for the Top Goal Scorer. “I felt so happy and surprised to win the Top Scorer prize. We played fairly, with great teamwork and enthusiasm”, said Le Tuan.
Mr. Phung Anh Quan, the DTU trainer commented: “We faced many obstacles during our matches in Vinh. However, we played at our best and finished third, with the Top Goal Scorer. Our achievement has motivated us to do better next season.”
