Wearing a shining white dress, Miss DTU, Pham Thi Thuy, was very happy to be runner-up in the 2012 Miss Star Contest. Known as “an exquisite young lady” with gentle beauty, a sweet voice and a refined bearing, Miss DTU from Danang always looked radiant throughout the contest, especially in the finals held on July 30 at the White Palace Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Miss Star Contest ran for two months, starting on May 14, with many exciting activities. The twenty-two contestants were able to demonstrate their beauty and talent in a show and bikini albums in Hoi An at the Palm Garden Resort. They also went to Long An to participate in charitable and other events, and to practice with Vietnamese and foreign experts.
Miss DTU charmed the contest audiences by her pictures in the albums, notably “Pretty Smile” and “Multicolor”, and with her simple and gentle rendition of the song “Thuong”, accompanied by an acoustic guitar.

Thuy My went to the final round hoping to win the title with an alluring performance. As one of the final five contestants, Miss DTU impressed the audience with her persuasive answer in the final Question and Answer Round. She said “I don’t object to plastic surgery because nobody is perfect. Although plastic surgery can improve our appearance, we shouldn’t misuse it”. Thuy My obviously influenced the judges and became runner-up in the 2012 Miss Star Contest.
“This prize is so amazing! I feel that my life has changed in a meaningful way. I have received many invitations from photographers and even offers to relocate to Ho Chi Minh City. However, I still love my life in Danang, it’s a close-knit city. I’m going to come back Danang on August 5 to begin my new school year because my first priority is to study”, said Ms. Thuy My in a short telephone conversation.
By gentle manner and determination, Ms. Thuy My easily has impressed many people. We all wish her more success on gaining the title in the 2013 Miss Star Contest.
