On 16th November, 2011, five hundred DTU staff and students participated in the traditional tri-annual “Blood Donor Day”, organized by the DTU Youth Union.

This month only those with blood types is O or B were allowed to donate blood, so many of the volunteers were anxious to find out if they were eligible or not. At the end of the day, under the watchful eyes of experienced nurses, 235 units of blood had been collected.
One student declared: “I arrived at DTU very early this morning to give blood. Unfortunately, although my type was not required this time, I still want to donate next year”. under the watchful eyes of experienced nurses
Every year, the DTU Youth Union holds Blood Donor Days in March, July and November and, in total, four thousand units of blood have been donated since 2009.
