On November 4th, 2010, the DTU Youth Union, in collaboration with the Da Nang Youth Union, conducted the third blood donation program of 2010, at the lobby of DTU Nguyen Van Linh campus. The response was excellent.
With the motto "Connecting the Volunteer, Sharing the Affection", hundreds of students overcame their fears and participated actively in the program. Despite the drizzling, cold weather, student concern for community could not be dismissed. With record-breaking donations, Ms. Pham Mai Anh, a student of Foreign Languages remarked: "This is the first time I have donated blood, so I was a little scared at first, but, on the advice of the organizers and my friends, I realized that this is a generous thing to do, which will bring joy to me and the recipients."
Many students donate blood
In three hours, the organizers collected more than 200 litres of blood. By these generous volunteer donations, the lives of many more patients will be saved.
Along with other practical activities, such as “The Youth Street-Cleaning Program", "The Flood Relief Program", etc, the Blood Donation Program has now become a traditional part of DTU activities.
This was also an occasion for students to express their enthusiastic social support to offer their joy, happiness and an opportunity to help recipients to survive.
